hile pursuing a degree in business, Karli quickly realized that she wasn’t built for the 9-5 corporate life. Karli enjoyed photographing her friends for fun and grew up a hopeless romantic.
She finished her degree – because photography isn’t even a “real” job, right? And in between study groups for accounting exams and late night milkshake runs, she began photographing weddings for her college friends.
Then, David came into the picture. He probably liked the idea of spending Saturdays with Karli more than learning how to bustle a dress or become Karli’s personal pack mule. But wedding after wedding, he grew more enticed and he kept showing up!
Having experienced all the joy our wedding day brought us, we decided it was our life’s passion to create the same experience for our couples. We knew as a husband and wife, we could provide a unique approach to the wedding day, here not to serve just the bride, but the bride and the groom. We believe that marriage is the biggest blessing–not the old ball and chain it’s made out to be–and we’re here to celebrate every minute of it!
Karli is the creative director extraordinaire at Karli and David Photography! From editing all of our images, to posting on social media, to creating the perfect wedding day timeline, she does it! She started the business about a year before David jumped in, but doesn’t hold that over his head too much! When she doesn’t have a phone, computer, or camera in her hands, they are usually full of iced coffee or chocolate chip cookies – and maybe the occasional dumbbell. #balance :)
David is our communication and financial expert – whether behind the scenes or at a session! From sending emails, to cracking the occasional joke to keep the mood light at a session, keeping our clients happy is his number 1 priority! When he’s not combing through the budget looking at Karli’s new photography purchases, David is probably doing something active! Whether it’s Crossfit, skiing, or spending the day on the boat, being on the go is always his first choice! Don’t worry though – he makes sure to take some time on the couch with Karli watching one of our favorite sitcoms too!
Murphy is our business mascot and personal office foot warmer. When he isn’t napping under Karli’s desk, or begging for a walk after we have spent too many hours in the office, he is playing fetch and excitedly greeting new humans on the greenbelt. He's half old english sheep dog, half miniature poodle, full bundle of quirkiness and joy!
