What a summer.

I have had the opportunity this summer to shoot some fun country weddings! Being in Idaho, that seems to be a common theme amongst some of my couples, and it is so fun to see all different kinds of rustic details being brought into the wedding day! Abby and Ryan’s wedding was no exception here! From getting to take bridal party photos at Abby’s family’s ranch, to the groom and his groomsmen wearing cowboy hats, boots, and jeans, it was yet another amazing Idaho wedding day!

Abby’s sister is a professional wedding photographer as well, but was in the wedding party, so I was honored that they chose and trusted me to capture her day. When I met Abby, I knew she was going to be such a fun bride to work with. She was calm, cool and collected all day, which is such a unique trait for a bride. Her new husband Ryan is a lucky guy!

We were fortunate to have a lovely day at Sunflower Lane in Nampa, Idaho. Everything about this day was perfect, from the amazing altar that Abby’s brother made (Seriously, keep scrolling to see photos of the altar because it’s amazing!), to the decor details and bouquets done by Major Events, to a custom donut wall. It was filled with many emotions, tears, and lots of love. One of the things I love about being a wedding photographer, is that you spend quite a lot of time with your clients, and more often than not, they end up becoming more like friends. Ryan and Abby were no exception and were so fun to get to know.

After getting some sneak Peek photos, Abby shared a beautiful story…

Abby wrote a post on Instagram that is just too sweet not to share. She wrote, “2 weeks before our first date, I sat down on my couch and wrote down a list of all the things I wanted to find in a husband. The list I made was tedious and specific, and I laughed to myself that there was actually a human out there that would meet or God forbid, exceed these standards. I laid my hands on the list, and with tears streaming down my face, I prayed to God that he would humor me and let me meet a man even close to the list I made. 2 weeks later I was being picked up by this handsome man, who I had known since I was 16, for a first date. We shared 4 hours of laughs and conversations over dinner with a beer. Fast forward to nearly 2 years later… I walked down the aisle to marry the man who not only met every single bullet point on my list, but exceeded them beyond words I can even list. Never in a million years did I ever believe or feel like I deserved a man of Ryan’s caliber, but God had a plan. I love you more than I will ever be able to express, Ryan.”
