It was so wonderful to get back out and shoot after taking a month off from sessions. Winter time tends to slow things down a bit, which is always appreciated after the crazy busy season of Fall, but I always find myself missing what I love most: photographing couples in love! Having my camera back in my hands for Caitlin and Tyler’s Boise winter engagement was so wonderful! We got the most beautiful Boise day for mid-January and enjoyed warm weather!
We had so much fun getting to know Caitlin and Tyler and learning more about their story. They both went to Nampa Christian, which is David and my rival high school! Being the two Christian schools in the same conference always led to some healthy, or maybe not so healthy, competition! Don’t worry, we moved past our high school differences and had a wonderful time. 🙂
Although Caitlin and Tyler went to school together, they didn’t start dating until after college. They did, however, go to one banquet together in high school (that’s the Christian school name for a dance), but nothing came of it. After high school, Caitlin left Boise to attend Colorado Christian University where she played basketball and stayed in Colorado after graduating.
Tyler was visiting Colorado and knew that Caitlin lived there. He asked her if she wanted to meet up and hangout while he was in town, and a relationship began! After a year of dating, Tyler completely surprised Caitlin with a proposal while visiting her in Colorado. She had no idea it was coming, and he even had one of her best friends come out for it! They went to a beautiful lookout in Colorado, and he popped the question with his Grandmother’s ring.
Caitlin now lives in Boise, and they are planning their June wedding at beautiful Still Water Hollow. Caitlin and Tyler, thank you so much for letting us be a part of this exciting season! We are so excited for you! And, as always, go Chargers! 😉
