Fort Desoto Florida Couples Session

We had so much fun with Abi and Kody at their Fort Desoto Florida couples session. After spending most of the week exploring a bit of Orlando and Tampa, we drove down to St. Petersburg. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute we got to spend checking out the area.

We drove out to scout Fort Desoto Park before shooting our session there that evening. Our original plan was to drive back into St. Petersburg to get some work done at a coffee shop for the afternoon before our session. But by the time we made it through traffic and out to the beach, we decided there was no way we were leaving! Thankfully, we had our swimsuits–and all of our other belongings in our car–so we pulled out our suitcases, bought a beach towel at the beach store, and enjoyed a couple hours soaking up the sun on the beach! We certainly needed a little rest and relaxation after a week of non-stop exploring and driving in Florida.

Everyone told us to keep an eye out for alligators and snakes while we were in Florida. Unfortunately–or maybe fortunately–we never saw either! However, I (David) brushed up against Karli’s leg at one point during the session to spook her and make her think it was a snake. Abi and Kody found it hilarious, Karli not so much…. She quickly forgave me and instructed me never to do it again. Ha!

We had a great time getting to know Abi, the amazing planner we collaborated with on our Elegant, Classic Florida styled shoot at Simpson Lakes. We also had the privilege of photographing her entire wedding planning team for a branding and headshot session. So, it only made sense to cap off our weekend with a session of Abi and her husband, Kody. This Fort Desoto Florida couples session just might be one of our favorite beach sessions we have ever done!
