Brandy and Colby’s Rustic Still Water wedding was definitely a long time coming! These two high school sweethearts met in science class, and survived four years of long distance dating! It was so sweet to see it all culminate with a romantic ceremony surrounded by friends and family!
We got to meet Brandy and Colby at their July Boise River Engagement last summer. Their love for one another is so infectious, and we loved getting to spend the day with them. We knew that their wedding day would be a special one, and it certainly lived up to our expectations!
One special part of the day was actually the date of their wedding. Brandy’s grandpa passed away one year ago to the day of their wedding. While they were all sad he couldn’t be there, Brandy told us she knew he would be there in spirit! Early on in the day, Brandy told us a story about her grandpa. For a few weeks after he died, they saw a butterfly every single day. They all took comfort in the butterfly, and felt that it was her grandpa’s way of saying that everything would be okay.
Fast forward to their wedding day, and Brandy asked us to keep an eye out for any butterflies. While we didn’t see any butterflies before the ceremony, one of the guests arrived with a sun umbrella that was unmistakable. It was absolutely covered in butterflies! We asked later if the woman knew Brandy’s grandpa, or about the butterflies. She had absolutely no idea! In fact, it was a last minute outfit change that led to her even bringing the butterfly umbrella! It may have been a coincidence, but we think grandpa may have had a hand in it 馃檪
