Elena and James’ Ethereal Boise River Engagement was an early summer dream! We spent the evening at Barber Park in Boise and it was magical. We are so glad they asked us to capture this sweet moment in time. There is nothing quite like being a part of this short period of time they are sharing as fiancés. This evening together was as sweet as the love that they share for one another.
Elena and James are from Detroit, Michigan. Their relationship had humble beginnings with a somewhat undesirable job at the hospital (their words, not ours – haha!). While their job wasn’t their favorite, the chemistry they had together was undeniable. James finished nursing school, and decided to explore the world of travel nursing! It was a great opportunity for the two of them to see the world together! They are spending a few months in Boise while James is on a travel nursing contract.
They reached out and asked us to capture their engagement photos, and wanted to document this time in Boise. Their inspiration of the session was to show off Boise! Specifically, they hoped to show off the river and the mountains all at once! While it was a tall order, we thought Barber Park was the perfect solution. We were blessed with the most dreamy, golden light that was absolutely perfect with the backdrop! We are so obsessed with the outcome of the session! Not only was it a gorgeous evening, Elena and James lit it up in front of the camera!

Elena and James are tying the knot in the Dominican Republic next year. After attending a destination wedding for some friends, they realized it was the perfect fit for them! A relaxed, tropical getaway to tie the knot will be the perfect celebration of their love for one another.
