We had the most beautiful evening by the Boise River for Jillian and Austin’s engagement session! These two are tying the knot this October at Willowbridge in Eagle, Idaho. I may be just a little bit biased, but I happen to think that they have chosen the best place ever and the best month ever to get married! If you don’t know, my husband David and I got married this past October at Willowbridge ourselves! Needless to say, it’s one of our favorite venues of all time, and we couldn’t be more excited to capture Jillian and Austin’s big day this Fall!
Jillian and Austin actually grew up with each other practically their whole lives! They went to the same elementary, middle, and high school! It wasn’t until college, however, that they finally ended up dating when they became friends at Boise State. It’s funny how life works, right? Sometimes exactly what you were looking for all along can be lying right before your eyes! After 4 years together, Austin popped the question on New Year’s Eve at his family cabin in the mountains. They went on a walk together just the two of them and promised forever. Jillian and Austin are one of the funniest, goofiest, and most laid back couples ever! They kept us laughing the entire night! I almost forgot I needed to keep taking photos, we were having so much fun!
When we first started their engagement session, Jillian and Austin told us that they had practically no photos together, and they weren’t lying! I’m so very glad to say we changed that, and I think they even had some fun in the process! One of the biggest reasons we love and pretty much insist on doing an engagement session with our couples before the wedding day is so that our couples can get comfortable with being in front of the camera. Believe it or not, 99% of people are not comfortable in front of the camera…I know, shocking right? No one comes out of the womb knowing exactly how to act, pose, and be themselves in front of a camera. That’s what we are here for! We are experts in and have literally studied hours of material on how to pose couples together so that they look natural, joyful, and the best they possibly can! We teach our couples all the tricks and go to poses at our engagement sessions, so that by the time the wedding rolls around, they are comfortable, confident, and excited for photos on the wedding day!
