Rachel and Masyn’s Bogus Basin Summer engagement session was an absolute dream! After wildfires in California and Idaho City, the sky was diffused beautifully with a light filter of smoke, making for the dreamiest light for their session! We absolutely loved getting to hang out with them and explore the mountains.
Rachel and Masyn’s story begins all the way back in the second grade, when they initially met. They grew up together in Las Vegas their entire childhood. Their sisters are even best friends! Eventually, Rachel and Masyn hit it off and started dating. Masyn later moved to Boise to attend BSU, while Rachel worked on her nursing degree in Nevada. Now they are back in Boise together and recently bought their first home!
Their proposal story is one of the sweetest, most unique stories we have heard yet, and it’s best described in Rachel’s own words: “Everyone knows how much I love to read so when Masyn asked me to go to Barnes and Noble one night, I didn’t even think twice before saying, “Let’s go, what kind of book are you looking for?” followed by a whole conversation about how he wanted to look for a mystery. We got to the mystery section and Masyn guided me into finding a book called The Proposal. He had me read the back with our story on it and at the end he wrote about how there’s one more step before our story can go on and he proposed!!! Inside the book was letters from our close friends and family which were so amazing.”
Rachel and Masyn also have two adorable pups, Bodi and Archie. At the end of their session, they joined us for a few photos! Masyn’s sister kindly drove them all the way to Bogus Basin and made them the cutest bandanas to wear. She also made them an adorable sign that read, “Our humans are getting married!” Even though Bodi and Archie are just puppies, only 1 and 2 years old, they were so well behaved and performed amazingly for the camera! It doesn’t hurt that they brought some treats…Whether it’s dogs or children, there’s nothing wrong with a little bribing. 🙂
We had so much fun at their engagement session and can’t wait for their Still Water Hollow Wedding next year!
