Harmony Ranch Weddings
This day was so beautiful. There was a perfect cloud cover almost all day that made for the most perfect even lighting for photos throughout the day. It sprinkled for just a minute or two maybe twice throughout the whole day. Ironically, my husband, David, and I had almost planned on getting married on this exact date, but ended up moving our date due to our photographer being unavailable. I am glad it worked out the way it did, because it freed up my availability to shoot Krysten and Derik’s wedding! This was the last wedding that David and I got to shoot before our own wedding just a few weeks later.
I knew Krysten from high school and was so excited when she reached out to me about wedding photography. She has been with Derik since high school, so it was fun to watch their relationship evolve over the years. When she told me their venue was Harmony Ranch, I had no idea what to expect. I had never seen or heard of it before, and didn’t get a chance to get in to see it before the wedding, so I was hoping for the best! It ended up being the most quaint and sweet venue hidden in Eagle, Idaho. The ceremony was held on a grassy area with large trees and an ascending hillside in the background. The venue even provides wooden benches for ceremony seating. The reception was held inside the barn on the property (which also hosts a bridal suite for getting ready). All of the draping and lighting inside the barn is included with the venue as well. Since there wasn’t a ton of large scale decorating to do, Krysten incorporated small touches and details. She made flower rings that hung above the cake and cupcake table (seriously scroll below to see these!). They even gave out peppermint patty favors inside a take home box and made a photo booth backdrop.
